A letter from James

Hi!

My name is Jamie Lee but my closest friends and family call me James,

I have loved fashion from the time I put on my mama’s high-heels and my dad’s oversized white button-up shirt as a little girl and strutted down the imaginary runway in my family’s living room.  Fashion wasn’t just about what I was wearing, it was about how what I was wearing made me feel and how it made other people feel about me.  In the right outfit on the right day I felt invincible.  I felt beautiful.  I felt free.

While the love for fashion has always been at the core of my being, I grew up and found another great passion. I have spent the past 20 years building a reputation as a leader in the events industry. Early on in my career, I was told that one should always “dress with a sense of occasion”

A sense of occasion is a feeling that a time or event is special or important.

That concept has become a pillar in my life.  I sought to make every moment feel like a sense of occasion. From planning celebrity-studded events to my impeccably decorated home to the outfits I wore and the way I presented myself, I worked hard to curate a world filled with beauty, with purpose, with intention, and without reservations.

That passion lead me to open a small boutique and begin styling friends, family and eventually my clients.  With each look I have made it my mission to embolden and empower men and women of all sizes, shapes, and backgrounds and to encourage them to see their own inner and outer beauty.

I believe in being more than a pretty face. Along with my success in the events industry, as a boutique owner, and as a personal stylist, I have become a nationally known business leader and public speaker.  As a volunteer for Dress for Success, a member of the Business Journals Women’s Leadership Council, a board member for Make-A-Wish and a 40 Under 40 winner, I am passionate about giving others a hand up and encouraging them personally and professionally
